Kai Eckardt

Software Developer and Content Creator

About me

Hi, my name is Kai Eckardt. I have been working in software development for more than seven years. Along the way I focused on graphics and frontend work before finally settling in app development. Servers and consoles, on the other hand, are not my friends.

Even as a child I was drawn to model making and everything that involves inventing and tinkering. Computer science became my digital workbench and let me hold an actual product in my hands at the end of the day.

I keep pursuing my interest in graphic design through videos that I record and edit myself. To balance out my digital projects, I cook vegetarian food or go mountain biking through the nearby woods around Augsburg.

The Bavarian Model Maker

In 2019 I bought a LEGO® set again after many years and was immediately hooked by the functions and the fun of building it. More sets followed, and soon the first creations of my own.

That turned into a YouTube channel where I built my LEGO® creations. Other kits such as 3D puzzles quickly joined in. The videos show the build, partly in stop motion, from the first piece to the finished model.

Later on 3D printing, CAD design and laser cutting were added. Today I design my own RC models, from boats to off-road vehicles, as well as purely decorative pieces.
